(April 3, 2006) - For the second year in a row, the Chicago Double Decker Co. has been selected as the operator for the Chicago Cubs express shuttles. Service begins on April 8th and will end October 1st.
The Chicago Cubs will utilize three Chicago Double Decker buses along two routes, a Downtown Express Shuttle and a Metra Express Shuttle. The service will begin operating two hours prior to the game time.
The Downtown Express Shuttle will have two Double Decker buses leaving 30 minutes apart with each bus making one trip. They will make pickup stops at the Chicago Hilton & Towers, Tribune Tower and Water Tower Place before dropping passengers off at Wrigley Field. Post-game scheduled departures will be 30 and 45 minutes after the game ends.
The Metra Express Shuttle will have one Double Decker bus making two trips pre-game and post-game to the Lawrence/Ravenswood Metra station. Scheduled departures will be based on the Metra schedule.
The charge will be $5.00 roundtrip per person; children under the age of 14 will be free. All passengers will be ticketed. One-way trips are available at full ticket price.
