Chicago Fact: Grant Park has seen two events of great importance for American culture - the 1968 Democratic Convention protests and the 2008 election night acceptance speech of Barack Obama.
Chicago is filled with wonderful events throughout the year. These are just a few of our favorite things:
Far and away the best outdoor concert venue is Charter One Pavilion, located next to the Adler Planetarium on Northerly Island. This is another intimate concert venue with just about 7,000 seats. Looking over your shoulder while in your seat you will see 12th Street Beach and a great many boats anchored near the shore of our beautiful Lake Michigan to hear the show.
See the wildly popular show which combines music, comedy and multimedia theatrics in a completely unique and largely indescribable form of entertainment. USA Today raves Blue Man Group is "An ecstatic experience!" Click the button to purchase discounted tickets for the show, only available through this website. Then use our North Neighborhood Tour (summer months only) to get to your show at the Briar Street Theatre.
Catch this free trolley from the old Water Tower at Michigan and Pearson to see this wonderful urban indoor/outdoor market in the historic Randolph Street Market District. Events take place on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month from May through September only. You will find lots of eclectic dealers, designers and swappers - truly a great exploration day in Chicago!
With your All-Day or Multi-Day ticket you can hop on our North Neighborhoods Tour with Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co. to get to Wrigley Field this summer. Wrigley Field is providing tours with a rare glimpse into more than 90 years of history in one of the country's most beloved ballparks. To ensure your preferred time and date, tickets must be purchased in advance. For Wrigley Field Tour tickets and information call 773-404-CUBS or visit their site.
Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co. presents the 23rd annual Jazz Club Tour of Chicago on September 2, 2009. In partnership with The Jazz Institute of Chicago this is a wonderful opportunity for music fans to discover more than 15 of Chicago's best jazz clubs. The tour ranges from 95th Street on the South to 7800 blocks North and truly offers something for everyone. For tickets and information call 312-427-3400 or visit their site.
