ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Compliance Supervisor ensures company rules and regulations are followed properly and that local, state and federal laws are enforced in a fair, consistent and reliable manner. The incumbent effectively interacts and communicates issues that are related to compliance. The incumbent assists with safety investigations, resolves problems using existing resources and assists with other roles such as Dispatch Supervisor, customer service and other duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of dispatch and/ or supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Working knowledge of motor carrier rules & regulations under GA and US DOT
  • Ability to learn and apply modern computer and office technology
  • Ability to complete and pass ACLA Safety & Training Programs
  • Ability to communicate fluently in the English language
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience that meets the classification pre-requisites

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Business, Operations, Management or related field
  • 2+ years of transportation experience supplemented with 2+ years of dispatch and/or supervisory experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as a liaison between commercial vehicle drivers and operations
  • Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct
  • Provides reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to upper management and safety department
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Safety, Charters, Human Resources etc.
  • Receives general direction from the Operations Director who reviews work for compliance with enforcement program goals and objectives
  • Ensures full compliance of commercial vehicle driver requirements in accordance with corresponding Federal and State Department of Transportation
  • Processes documentation requests and enter data in corresponding database
  • Coordinates with operators to ensure appropriate documentation completion
  • Obtains correct and pertinent information for log book and hours of service reconciliation
  • Ensures new hires are properly briefed on current operation procedures
  • Monitors all infrastructure activities and ensures related regulations, policies and procedural guidelines are followed
  • Completes the administration of the inspections
  • Takes direction from Operations Manager, Director or General Manager
  • Files all necessary documents and maintains corresponding files
  • Work with Dispatch and Operations to ensure proper documentation needs are met
  • Ensure all required training and development courses are completed
  • Additional assignments and tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds at one time
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, including outdoors

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimal

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Ability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, special days, etc.

  • A Letter of Intent and an updated resume must be completed, signed & dated for further consideration
  • All newly hired/promoted candidates will be subject to a 1-Year Probationary Period
