Reporting directly to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Shop Supervisor oversees repair and maintenance of the ACLA/Megabus Southeast Motor coach fleet in Atlanta, GA. The incumbent serves as the second in command for the Maintenance Department and works closely with the Director of Maintenance, other Department Heads, Technicians, Regional Managers and all Maintenance Employees. The incumbent oversees and supervises all work for the maintenance crew and assigns projects, and coordinates progress. Manages all aspects of workforce development, including the disciplinary process.


  • 4 years of supervisory experience
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalency
  • Working knowledge of motor carrier rules & regulations under GA and US DOT
  • Moderate application knowledge of modern computer and office technology
  • Facility management skills with equipment maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge Experience in Electronic Diagnostics
  • Brake repair certification or experience
  • Strong ability to manage people and workplace interactions, including disciplinary procedures
  • Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Drivers License
  • Ability to communicate fluently in the English language
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience that meets the classification pre-requisites


  • 6+ years of supervisory experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Completion of an Associate's Degree or higher in Engineering, Logistics, Operations, Management, General Business or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products


  • Manages the maintenance, repair and safe operation of all commercial vehicles
  • Oversees the overall upkeep of the building and property
  • Purchases parts and supplies as needed for the operation
  • Coordinates work schedules for technicians and cleaners
  • Tracks equipment for service and preventive maintenance
  • Tracks and codes invoices
  • Serves as on-call for mechanical emergencies
  • Enforces company policies and procedures
  • Reviews work orders, assign tasks to employees and verify the quality of work performed by doing quality pm and repair audits
  • Schedules work to be performed based on routine preventive maintenance inspections
  • Maintains a safe and productive work environment
  • Troubleshoots and evaluate options to determine the best course of action
  • Hires, develops and disciplines employees
  • Promotes team building and coaching skills
  • Employs a strong sense of negotiation skills
  • Applies analysis of projects and coordinates accordingly


  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds at one time
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions, including outdoors
