New Commuter Service from Old Bridge, NJ

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SUBURBAN TRANSIT TO PROVIDE CONVENIENT COMMUTER SERVICE FROM OLD BRIDGE, NJ TO AND FROM BATTERY PARK / WALL STREET

New Brunswick, New Jersey – May 20, 2010 - Suburban Transit Corp. / Suburban Trails of New Brunswick, NJ, an operating subsidiary of Coach USA, today announced that it will begin regular route commuter service from Old Bridge, N.J. to Battery Park/ Wall Street, N.Y. starting on June 28th, 2010. This new service is an extension of Suburban existing 600 Line currently originating in East Brunswick, New Jersey.

This announcement is a result of New Jersey Transit Corporation’s decision to discontinue it’s 134 Line (Old Bridge to Lower Manhattan) effective June 26th 2010. “We are pleased to be in the position to step in and extend our current Downtown service in order to accommodate these otherwise displaced commuters” said Scott Sprengel, Suburban General Manager. Currently NJT offers (3) morning trips and (4) evening return options. Suburban’s plan is to grow ridership by initially offering (5) morning options and (5) evening returns to Old Bridge.

Suburban Tickets and Monthly Passes can be purchased in East Brunswick at The Transportation Center, Neilson Parking Plaza and Windsor Pharmacy as well as Double Dee Market & Catering in Old Bridge.

Editor’s notes:
