There’s just something about those massive colorful giant "balloons" lifting off the ground and floating overhead that puts a smile on every on-looker’s face! The sight of those gigantic beauties all across the sky is one worth seeing and we are happy to present it to you again this year! But it’s not "just" a balloon trip – we are including other wonderful touring in and around this gorgeous Adirondak area and we hope you will join us.
September 17 – Early morning departure today as we head to New York State with our first overnight in the quaint and beautiful town of Saratoga Springs, NY. (D)
September 18, 19, 20 – This morning we will have a guided tour of Saratoga Springs, the charming city known for historic homes, world-class horse racing and renowned mineral springs. Taste the magical waters and come back to the coach 10 years younger! (okay, maybe not… but you’ll still love the tour!) We are then on to Lake George for the next 3 nights, beginning with a narrated introduction to this picturesque area. During our stay in Lake George we have a wonderful array of planned activities in the area. We will ride up to Prospect Mt. for its Scenic Overlook with a 100-mile view of 4 states. The highlight of your trip will be the Balloon Festival Kick-off where about a dozen balloons are teathered so that you can talk to the balloonists and get up-close-and-personal to the balloons and basket with music, ceremonies, and lots of fun! Two dinners will be included at unique and popular area restaurants along with free time for a dinner on your own one of the evenings in Queensbury. We will enjoy a scenic drive thru the Adirondack Park - this is the largest park in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark, covering some 6,100,000 acres…a land area greater than Vermont, or than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks combined - Wow! We will give you a grand tour at Lake Placid and the Olympic history and see where the US won the gold over the Soviet Union. Take a ride to the top of the 120-meter ski jump - neat! Also learn about the training of future Olympians -then shop in the quaint village of Lake Placid. You will experience an amazing balloon lift-offs at the Airport with 100+ balloons rising up before your eyes, a magnificent sight, to be sure. This is the largest balloon event on the entire East Coast ! There will be Fireworks celebrating the Festival’s 40th Anniversary. You will love your lunch cruise with music and dancing on the beautiful lake – surrounded by gorgeous scenery. (3 B – 1 L - 2 D)
September 21 – Breakfast included and we will then depart for home after a fabulous time at Lake George. (B)Cost Includes: Deluxe motorcoach transportation, all hotel accommodations including one night in Saratoga Springs and 3 nights in Lake George, 4 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 3 dinners, all touring and admissions as described.

Please note: The magnificent balloon lift-offs normally occur in the very early morning hours and we will be there to see it all on this tour – we wanted you to know this ahead of time. It can also sometimes be quite cooler in the Lake George area in the early morning hours and these events do take place outside – please come prepared so you can fully enjoy everything this magnificent event has to offer. There is always a chance they "could" have a warmer swing at this time of year, but it is not out of the question to come prepared with a heavier coat and possibly gloves and hat if needed…this is just a suggestion. The daytime weather is normally very pleasant, but the earlier mornings are chilly. We will always do our best to be at as many of the balloon lift-offs and activities as possible, but the schedule may have to be adjusted somewhat to accommodate what Mother Nature might bring us which is beyond our control.
