August 11 – We make our way to the southern state of Tennessee and check into our home for the next three nights, the fabulous OPRYLAND HOTEL! Enjoy some time to freshen up and check out your awesome surroundings – you won’t believe this place! Later, we include a delicious dinner at the hotel (D)

August 12 – A professional step-on guide will join us this morning for a three-hour sight-seeing tour of “Music City USA”. Drive through the historic downtown, Music Row, the Parthenon and much more. A special treat today will be our luncheon cruise aboard the General Jackson, the world’s grandest showboat that offers a delicious meal and world-class entertainment while you cruise the majestic Cumberland River. Our folks love our rides on the General! Dinner on your own, and then this evening, we’ll head for Opry Plaza to take our reserved seats at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry, the longest continuously- broadcast radio program (since 1925) in the nation. Each show features over 20 acts from the legendary to the new young stars. Always a great evening! Following the Opry, we’ll be treated to a special “Backstage Tour” of the Opry House! (L)

August 13 – this morning we’re off to the Country Music Hall of Fame shaped like a giant musical note. This wonderful Museum presents a vast collection illustrating country music’s story as told through the turns of two centuries, and is a treasure trove of historic country video clips and recorded music, exhibits, plus boasts a wonderful Museum Store where you can shop for special country-music items – a fascinating place to visit! Then we head over to the historic Ryman Auditorium and hear stories of its marvelous history – if walls could talk! Lunch will be on your own in the downtown entertainment district. This afternoon will find us visiting a 27,000 square foot log cabin known as “fontanel”, the majestic palace Barbara Mandrell and her family once called home – and recently opened to the public. We’re including a tour of the mansion, featuring personal collections and photos from Barbara and a host of other celebs. The mansion is 3 stories tall with more than 20 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, an indoor pool and indoor shooting range on 136 acres of land! (Should there be a problem with the Fontanel reservation, we will visit Andrew Jackson’s “Hermitage” instead.) This evening, enjoy reserved seats at the Nashville Nitelife theater for dinner and their show, “The Best of Country Music” for songs from past to present. A great day! (D)

August 14 – It’s farewell to Nashville, but hello to Memphis as we journey across Tennessee to the largest city in the state. Memphis is especially famous for its Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Soul, and Gospel traditions, with many notable musicians growing up in this area filled with a rich musical heritage. We begin our time here with a deluxe Platinum ticket to Graceland, former home of Elvis – and where some say his “spirit” still resides! Your ticket includes an audio-guided tour of the Mansion and grounds, along with self-guided tours of Elvis’s two custom airplanes, Auto Museum, and the Sincerely Elvis Museum. Our hotel is located near famous Beale Street (Home of the Blues) and right by the trolley route, so you can ride downtown and enjoy the evening any way you wish.

August 15 – A guided city tour of Memphis awaits us before we journey on to Kentucky’s largest city, Louisville. Then sit back, relax, and let our delux3, wide-body coach carry you to our lovely hotel right on the banks of the Ohio River! Tonight we will enjoy a lovely, relaxing dinner at the Captain’s Quarters right on the waterfront – such a great way to end this deluxe Tennessee Duo tour! (B,D)

August 16 – Enjoy a guided tour of Old Louisville to see the sights, and then we settle in and journey back to our departure points – with happy hearts and a guitarcase-full of memories to keep forever! (B)

Cost Includes: Deluxe motorcoach transportation, 5 nights lodging, 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 3 dinners, activities as listed above, luggage and taxes.
