We will then tour this "masterpiece over the falls" built in 1935. This dramatically built home over a mountain waterfall is considered one of the most important examples of modern architecture even today. Arrival in Ligonier area this afternoon with a guided tour of the Compass Inn Museum, an authentically restored 1799 stagecoach stop. Costumed docents tell the story of life during the early 1800’s including the Inn, cookhouse bar, blacksmith shop and gift shop. Late this afternoon we will arrive for ‘"red carpet welcome" at the Ramada Inn for welcoming and check-in. Relax and get ready for the evening event which starts out with an authentic Polynesian Dinner at the hotel complete with all the Hawaiian specialties to please your awaiting palate. (Tonight is great time to wear get in the theme of things and wear your tropical shirts if you wish). After dinner, we will head to the nearby Ligonier Theater for "Polynesian Fire" featuring a great Hawaiian production live on stage. The show features Tahitian drums, Samoan fire dancing, Hawaiian Hula along with lots of songs and dances of the islands. It will be a very festive and lively evening ! (D)

October 8 – Full breakfast included this morning. We will start our morning touring at Fort Ligonier where you will step back to the 18th century frontier life. Enjoy the fabulous exhibit along with the young George Washington’s original memories, portrait and pistols on display within an 8 acre and 10 building site. There will be some free time in historic Ligonier where you can enjoy browsing as you wish through more than 60 shops in town. Lunch will be included at the Coal Miner’s Café with home-style cooking. After lunch, we will stop at the National Park Service Flight 93 Memorial which was once a common field and is now a field of honor forever. On September 11, 2001, the US came under attack which we will never forget. Because of the actions of these 40 passengers and crew aboard Flight 93, the attack on the US Capital was further avoided.
