Helpful Tour Tips

tip 1 Hang on to your Explore Chicago Pass! It can be used to ride the trolleys and double deckers on all five of our tours for up to three consecutive days. It's impractical to see everything in one day, so strategize your Explore Chicago itinerary! And if you want a specific type of vehicle, your wait time may increase.

tip 2 For safety, passengers are not permitted to stand on the trolleys or buses. Occasionally a vehicle arrives with no available seats. Don't worry: another vehicle will arrive soon!

tip 3 Chicago's festivals, drawbridges, and traffic sometimes cause delays and re-routes. These conditions may alter arrival times at tour stops.

tip 4 It's a busy city, and our tour may vary in length. The hop on, hop off feature lets you determine how much time you spend at each stop and how you want to see Chicago.

tip 5 Our Signature Tour begins daily at 9a.m with last reboarding 5p.m. Allow extra time at each stop for wait time and boarding at the end of the day.

tip 6 Save shopping time and buy all of your Chicago souvenirs at the Explore Store. Coupons and discounts are in the back of your Guide Book.

tip 7 The Official Guide Book is NOT your ticket. You received your tour ticket at time of purchase, along with your free t-shirt voucher. Please keep your ticket with you at all times, it is needed to board all of our tour vehicles.

tip 8 We still operate our open-top buses on cold or rainy days. With Chicago's unpredictable weather, we're unable to offer refunds due to weather; however, we'll try to make these days comfortable for you.

tip 9 If you're traveling with 8 or more people, it may be beneficial for you to split up during the day. You'll find it easier, especially in peak-season, to board with a smaller group.

tip 10 To make your Chicago visit even more affordable, take advantage of the valuable coupons in the back of your Official Guide Book.

tip 11 We also offer savings on many famous and fun Chicago attractions. See a ticket agent for details!
