This is a world of entertainment at its best!  Return to yesteryear with top musicians, famed orchestras, the comedy of Bob Hope, the harmony of the Andrew Sisters, and the Glenn Miller Air Force Band - WOW!!  2014 Spectacular USO Show is an exclusive tour where we have accommodations waiting right on the Virginia Beach waterfront.  There will be great daytime sightseeing, outstanding dinner events, plus much more - truly a tour you don't want to miss!

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1- Monday, October 13:  A day of travel allows us time to get acquainted with our new Gad-About travel friends as we head for the Atlantic Ocean and our home for the next four nights right along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk.  Enjoy dinner on your own and settle in for a fabulous week ahead!

Day 2 - Tuesday, October 14:  Enjoy a Free Day to explore your surroundings.  Tonight's dinner is in the Virginia Beach Convention Center - wear your flip flops and Luau Shirts.  Enjoy a festive dinner and then kick back as you listen to live music from "The Rhondels."  They'll play the songs you love to hear from the 60's to the 80's.  Hear tunes from The Beach Boys, The Commodores, Elvis, Jimmy Buffet, Rod Stewart and many more as the City of Virginia Beach welcomes this grand USA Tribute.  Preffered seating is included.  What a great evening.

Day 3 - Wednesday, October 15:  Start with breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a Tour of Norfolk Base which is home to more than 80 ships of the Atlantic Fleet.  Here, a a naval personnel guide will take us past the training centers, aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers and sleek submarines.  A special treat will be our visit to the Battleship USS Wisconsin, considered the most unique battleship in the world.  We'll also take in the National Nauticus Museum where you can explore the power of the sea and view a film called "The Wild Ocean".  We begin a wonderful and very special evening with a Cabaret Style Dinner Show - hear Cole Porter songs and Gershwin classics, plus more!  Then we go a short ways to the Chrysler Hall, Norfolk's Performing Arts Center, and our big show regaling songs of the Golden Era.  "The Music of Frank Sanatra" is an original collection, re-scored and performed by the Tom Daugherty Orchestra.  The show features a Frank Sinatra Tribute Artist singing a collection of Sinatra's most famous songs as well as music from the Golden Era of Entertainment, show tuns from Hollywood Movies and Broadway Musicals - all songs you know by heart!  Such nostalgic fun!

Day 4, October 16:  This morning, we're off to the VAB Military Aviation Museum where hangers are filled with more than 65 military aircrafts from WWI and WWII.  Next, take your seats on the tarmac by a grassy field and prepare for "Swingtime in the Skies."  But, first an open-air, antique bus drives up with tribute artist Bob Hope, The Andrews Sisters and the entire Glenn Miller Band in WWII uniform waving from the open top deck and joining the audience for the "Swingtime in the Skies" Air Show, which features narration on historic planes and music of the era with fly-overs featuring both Tri-Planes and Bi-Planes.  Once the Air Show ends, everyone enjoys a Buffet Luncheon in the Hangar - YUM!  Next we'll take an interesting History Tour of Virginia Beach, including time for a photo-op at Old Camp Henry Lighthouse.  This evening, we'll take our seats at the Sandler Performance Hall for "King Neptune's USO Show".  This event begins with a Ceremonial "Big Check" Presentation by "Bob Hope", TAP Partners and The Virginia Beach CVB to the Virginia Beach Area USO.  With that ceremony completed, a team of top-notch entertainers take over as you sit back and enjoy a nostalgic "Thanks for the Memories" evening with the comedy of Bob Hope, the harmony of the incomparable Andrews Sisters, and a 13-piece orchestra that is a tribute to the greatest military ban of all time, "The Glenn Miller AAF Band".  The song list includes: "Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy," "In the Mood," "Moonlight Serenade" and many more of your all time favorites!  The whole evening is a tribute to these performers who, more than any others, entertained America's Troops while they served overseas.  Excellent!

Day 5 - Friday, October 17:  Today we return home from our beautiful oceanfront vacation, filled with outstanding memories of times gone by and a renewed hope for the the future.  DON'T MISS THE CHANCE TO Join US!

CANCELED TOURS:
Gad-About Tours Inc. reserves the right to cancel any tour that has not reached a minimum number of reservations. We reserve the right to change tour prices and itinerary. Tours are prepared up to a year in advance and may be impacted by circumstances that arise which are beyond our control. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service to anyone, in our sole discretion. We always avoid changes and cancellations if at all possible, as we realize the inconvenience to you, our valued customer.

TRANSPORTATION:
All of our tours are by late-model, deluxe wide-body motorcoach. They are equipped with air-conditioning, reclining seats, public address system, VCR, and emergency restrooms. Our intent is for all overnight tours to be professionally escorted for your convenience. Upon occasion, in order to avoid canceling a trip with a low passenger count, our driver may serve both positions of driver and escort, and all are professionally trained to do so. Also, on air trips with low passenger counts, we may not be able to provide an escort from our company. However, we will provide airport transportation*, plus a guide from our connecting company will meet you upon arrival at your destination and be with you throughout the entire tour. (*If only a few are going on a given air tour, we will pay your airport parking fee in lieu of using the coach.)

LODGING:
Your lodging is included on all overnight tours. All hotels are AAA rated. We never use second-rate hotels, restaurants, or activities on any tour, to the best of our ability to make that determination. Payment of telephone calls, room service, and other incidentals at places of lodging are the responsibility of the customer.

LUGGAGE:
One suitcase per person is included in the price of your tour. You are also permitted a carry-on, which is your responsibility. Additional luggage may be transported at the cost of $5.00 per bag, per day. It is wise to travel light. Luggage tags are provided and required for hotel identification, and are sent with the final letter with the phone numbers of your hotels.

TAXES AND GRATUITIES:
All taxes and gratuities for included meals and activities are included, unless otherwise mentioned by the Escort. Driver and Escort gratuities are not included in the price of the tour, and are optional. However, the suggested gratuity as posted by the American Bus Assoc. for a job well done is $2.00-$2.50 per person/per day for the tour escort, and $2.00-$2.50 per person/per day for the driver. We request that you express this on an individual basis, and let the quality of service received be your guide.

SEATING:
On all overnight tours, we use a daily seat rotation. The first day of a trip, we allow you to choose your seat when you get on, and rotate from there. We feel this is fair to all involved. If the coach is not full, a less formal rotation may be used at escort’s discretion.

SMOKING:
We make regular stops for restrooms and for the convenience of smokers; however, we have a NO SMOKING policy aboard all coaches. This policy also applies to e-cigarettes.
