Tour Itinerary:


Day 1: Overnight Flight 

The fabulous French Riviera awaits your arrival, complete with elegant coastal resorts, superb dining, fabulous shopping and fascinating museums.  Unpack your bags just one and stay at a single hotel for your entire adventure which begins with an overnight flight to France .


Day 2:  Nice (French Rivers), France - Tour Begins

Your tour commences in the stunning Mediterranean city of Nice, long revered as the playground of the rich and famous.  With an average of nearly 300 sunny days per year, Nice is a seaside paradise.  This evening, join your fellow travelers fro a welcome dinner featuring inspired French cuisine artfully presented. Day 3: St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Begin your day with a tour Nice.  A visit to the local flower market, where much more than brightly colored blooms are sold, is followed by a trip to the lively seafront Promenade des Anglais and Place Massena, the town's center of activity.  Then, travel the spectacular coastline, passing the charming town of Villefranche-sur-Mer east of Nice.  In St. Jean-Cap-Ferrat, called the crown jewel of the French Riviera, you visit the impressive Rothschild Villa and Gardens.  This seaside palazzo overlooks the Mediterranean and boast seven themed gardens.  (B)


Day 4: Antibes - St. Paul de Vence

Travel first to charming Antibes to enjoy the typical Provencal Market and explore this ancient port town.  Next is St. Paul de Vence, situated atop a hill overlooking the beautiful countryside.  This walled medieval town is filled with historic buildings, hidden allleyways, fabulous restaurants and many specialty shops.  As you explore, soak in its distinctive light, said to have inspired Matisse, Braque, Chagall and many other artists.  (B, D)


Day 5: Monaco

A tour of Monaco will introduce you to the famous Casino of Monte Carlo, the Place des Armes, Prince's Palace, Avenue des Beaux Arts, and the Cathedral of Monaco, where Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace are buried.  A highlight of your visit to Monaco is the fascinating Oceanographic Museum which was founded in 1910 by Prince Albert I, who personally collected many of the marine artifacts on display.  The museum building itself is a masterpiece of architecture not to be missed.  (B, D)) 


Day 6: Day at Leisure

Enjoy a full day a leisure to explore romantic Nice on your own,  Stroll by the shore, linger in an elegant cafe' or peruse the local shops ... the choice is yours!  Or, you may choose to purchase an optional excursion to St. Tropez and the popular resort town of Cannes, complete with a delightful cruise around the yacht-filled bay.  (B)


Day 7: Fre'jus

Delve into history as you travel to the town of Fre'jus, once site of a major naval port established by Julius Caesar in 49 BC.  See the remains of the Roman Theatre, Amphitheatre and Aqueduct.  Then, there's time to discover this historic location on your own and enjoy the bustling market day in this typical French town.  Spend the afternoon back in Nice catching up on any last-minute shopping and soaking in its chic atmosphere. (B)


Day 8: Grasse - gourd on

Learn the secrets of perfume making with a tour of the Fragonard Parfumerie in Grasse, where fragrant formulations have been prepared since 1782.  Spend time soaking up the atmosphere of this charming town.  Visit the new museum dedicated to the artist Fragonard and the Museum of Provencal Costume.  Then, follow the road high above the Loup River Gorge to Gourdon for an unparalleled panoramic view.  This evening, join your fellow travelers fro a farewell dinner celebrating the end of an unforgettable trip.  (B, D)


Day 9: Nice - Fly Home - Tour Ends

Depart for home with many wonderful memories of your vacation to the French Riviera. B)

****The balance for all flight trips are due 90 days before departure, at which time it will become non-refundable.  Any bookings made within the last 90 days are subject to availability and will require full payment at the time of booking.****

 

 

All Fly Trips include airfare from Cleveland Airport , transfers and air taxes and fess (subject to increase until paid in full).  You will drive yourself to the airport.  Trip insurance is available, and will be sent to you upon making your reservation for your individual consideration.

 

 

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A passport is required to take this tour.  Call the office and we will cheerfully mail you an easy application with instructions or see the following link on line to get one:  www.travel.state.gov/passport.  There are no refunds for improper identification.

PAYMENT:
For overnight tours, the deposit is based on the cost of the tour as follows:
  • Overnight Tours Under $150 > $25 Deposit
  • Overnight Tours $150-$800 > $75 Deposit
  • Overnight Tours $801-$1,500 > $100 Deposit
  • Overnight Tours over $1,501 > $250 Deposit
The balance of an overnight tour is due 30 days prior to departure (unless otherwise notified). A confirmation will be sent to you after we receive your deposit. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover if you are making your reservation by phone, or you can send a check to our office (please call first to check availability). If you are booking online, payment must be made in full.

REFUNDS:
Up to 30 days prior to departure date, a full refund will be made. *Air and cruise tours, and some longer tours, may be different—be sure to ask for details when making your reservation. Tours including tickets also generally have earlier non-refundable dates. There are no refunds for cancellations made within 30 days prior to your departure date. However, we will do our best to recover as much as we can, but cannot guarantee anything. There will be no refund, for any reason, for a “no-show” on the day of the tour. A “Refund Protection Plan” is available at our office at a minimal cost. This insures you a full refund in case of a death or illness in the immediate family up to 24 hours before the tour departs. (It does require a doctor’s written note or copy of death notice.) On longer tours, we have a special insurance plan available if you are interested, and it will be sent to you with your confirmation. We encourage you to take advantage of these protection plans. The Refund Protection Plan does not apply to Day Trips, nor are there any refunds for Day Trips, with a few exceptions.

CANCELED TOURS:
Gad-About Tours Inc. reserves the right to cancel any tour that has not reached a minimum number of reservations. We reserve the right to change tour prices and itinerary. Tours are prepared up to a year in advance and may be impacted by circumstances that arise which are beyond our control. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse service to anyone, in our sole discretion. We always avoid changes and cancellations if at all possible, as we realize the inconvenience to you, our valued customer.

TRANSPORTATION:
All of our tours are by late-model, deluxe wide-body motorcoach. They are equipped with air-conditioning, reclining seats, public address system, VCR, and emergency restrooms. Our intent is for all overnight tours to be professionally escorted for your convenience. Upon occasion, in order to avoid canceling a trip with a low passenger count, our driver may serve both positions of driver and escort, and all are professionally trained to do so. Also, on air trips with low passenger counts, we may not be able to provide an escort from our company. However, we will provide airport transportation*, plus a guide from our connecting company will meet you upon arrival at your destination and be with you throughout the entire tour. (*If only a few are going on a given air tour, we will pay your airport parking fee in lieu of using the coach.)

LODGING:
Your lodging is included on all overnight tours. All hotels are AAA rated. We never use second-rate hotels, restaurants, or activities on any tour, to the best of our ability to make that determination. Payment of telephone calls, room service, and other incidentals at places of lodging are the responsibility of the customer.

LUGGAGE:
One suitcase per person is included in the price of your tour. You are also permitted a carry-on, which is your responsibility. Additional luggage may be transported at the cost of $5.00 per bag, per day. It is wise to travel light. Luggage tags are provided and required for hotel identification, and are sent with the final letter with the phone numbers of your hotels.

TAXES AND GRATUITIES:
All taxes and gratuities for included meals and activities are included, unless otherwise mentioned by the Escort. Driver and Escort gratuities are not included in the price of the tour, and are optional. However, the suggested gratuity as posted by the American Bus Assoc. for a job well done is $2.00-$2.50 per person/per day for the tour escort, and $2.00-$2.50 per person/per day for the driver. We request that you express this on an individual basis, and let the quality of service received be your guide.

SEATING:
On all overnight tours, we use a daily seat rotation. The first day of a trip, we allow you to choose your seat when you get on, and rotate from there. We feel this is fair to all involved. If the coach is not full, a less formal rotation may be used at escort’s discretion.

SMOKING:
We make regular stops for restrooms and for the convenience of smokers; however, we have a NO SMOKING policy aboard all coaches. This policy also applies to e-cigarettes.

RESPONSIBILITY:
Gad-About Tours, Inc. is bonded, insured, and registered with the ICC, number MC 198451. We act only as agents and are not responsible to any person for any loss of time or money due to a change or delay beyond our control. Nor are we responsible for non-performance by those we have contracted with. Any claims against Gad-About Tours Inc. must be made, in writing, within 30 days of the trip.
