Tour Itinerary:

Explore Alaska’s diversity on this customized land tour offering an experience of a lifetime! Travel through the best scenic routes by deluxe motorcoach and domed railcar with an expert, knowledgeable local guide, who knows Alaska inside and out, getting an up-close look into the land of Alaska. A truly incredible journey! Marvel at spectacular mountains and valleys, observe wildlife and sea life in their natural habitats and view enormous glaciers.

Day 1:

Anchorage: Flight arrives in Anchorage located in south central Alaska on the shores of Cook Inlet surrounded by rugged wilderness. The largest city in Alaska where half of the residents live, yet moose can often be seen in urban parks. Transfer to your hotel and explore on your own the surrounding area.

Day 2:

Kenai Fjords National Park: Travel south on the Seward Highway along the scenic Turnagain Arm, designated an All-American Road. The Seward Peninsula combines amazing scenery and lies at the head of Resurrection Bay. Board a sightseeing vessel to cruise through the wildlife-rich and glacier-filled waters of beautiful Kenai Fjords National Park. The cruise takes you up close to a tidewater glacier where you may see ice "calving" into the sea. Watch for orcas, humpback whales, sea otters, eagles and other marine wildlife.

Day 3:

Prince William Sound: Greet the Seward Highway turning north to the small town of Whittier. Drive through one of the longest tunnels in North America—straight through a mountain for over two and a half miles! In Whittier board the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry for passage through Prince William Sound to Valdez. In the surrounding mountains view dozens of glaciers as well as more abundant wildlife that calls this pristine area home.

Day 4:

Fairbanks: Tour by motor coach along one of Alaska's most scenic and oldest routes in the state. The route drives over the Thompson Pass in the Chugach Mountains, and covers the boundary of Wrangell- St. Elias National Park, the largest in America, six times the size of Yellowstone. Here nine of the highest sixteen peaks in North America are found! Arrive in the evening in Fairbanks, known as the “Gateway to the Arctic.”

Day 5:

Fairbanks: City tour includes stopping at the 800-mile engineering miracle known as the Trans-Alaska pipeline which carries crude oil from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. Visit the University of Alaska Museum of the North featuring natural and cultural exhibits. In the afternoon, board a sternwheeler for a gentle cruise along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. Stop at a native Athabascan Village, where the opportunity to learn the skills and lifestyles of the native people is depicted.

Day 6:

Denali: Head south for Denali National Park which lies in the heart of a mountain chain about 600 miles long, the Alaska Range. Mount McKinley, the highest peak in North America, at 20,320 feet, is the centerpiece of this mountain range and in local dialect is called “Denali” meaning “the high one”. Time to explore on your own for the remainder of the day.

Day 7:

Denali National Park: Tour into the heart of the park where your best opportunity to view and photograph wildlife such as moose, caribou, Dall sheep, and grizzly bears, in their natural setting, will take your breath away! Lunch is served in Kantishna, once a bustling gold mining town at the end of the park road.

Day 8:

Talkeetna: Appreciate a leisure morning in Denali before transferring to the rail depot. Your Alaska journey continues today onboard the scenic glass-domed rail cars with optimal viewing and relaxation while passing through some of Alaska's most amazing scenery. At the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge, views of the mountain (weather permitting) are breathtaking.

Day 9:

Anchorage: Take in the gorgeous scenery one last time at Talkeetna before we make our way back to Anchorage. Upon arrival back in this metropolis, a city tour highlights the historic downtown area, the Ship Creek fish ladder and Lake Hood.

Day 10:

As this unique upclose tour of Alaska comes to an end, reflect back on the grandeur and greatness of Alaska as we jet back to city of origin.
